The CL408 incorporates a 32-bit high speed RISC processor for maximum performance. It's now possible to produce labels and tags up to 5.15" wide with high throughput even when text and/or graphics changes between labels. Even UCC/EAN-128 Shipping Container labels. Automatic incrementing serial numbers and check digits are produced without pausing between labels.
16 of the most popular bar code symbologies including the new 2-D codes plus 12 proportional and mono-spaced fonts are built into the printer for great looking labels with minimal programming. Plus TrueType® fonts can be downloaded to the CL408 to be used as internal fonts.
SATO tradition is maintained with the CL408: Special circuitry in every CL408 constantly monitors print head usage and automatically adjusts print energy for consistent print quality. The print head has been designed for easy user replacement. This important feature eliminates the costly service call normally associated with this procedure. Plug and Play compatibility with the popular SATO M-8400 adds to the ease of integration into existing applications.
For virtual unlimited flexibility the CL408 incorporates two PCMCIA expansion slots. By installing one or two PCMCIA cards, users can add up to 4Mb of additional memory to store formats, fonts, and graphics such as logo's or extend the print area. Users can develop an unlimited library of PCMCIA cards to meet their needs.
The interface in the CL408 is based on a new SATO Plug-In interface module design. Users can select the interface type needed. Other printers in this price range offer only one choice; with the CL408 you get multiple choices.
