Procurement and Implementation of Tools for Automated Mapping, the Royal Thai Survey Department

Empower Workforce for On-Site Surveys and Field Data Collection

CDG Group and the Royal Thai Survey Department, under the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters, have collaborated to implement advanced tools for producing topographic maps in Thailand. These maps are available at scales of 1:50,000 and serve as the primary basemaps in the L7018 (WGS 84) series. They also include a 1:250,000 scale for the Joint Operations Graphic (Ground) and are integrated into a basemap collection stored in a Topographic Data Store (TDS).

Furthermore, the personnel of the Royal Thai Survey Department have received comprehensive training in map database management, aerial triangulation adjustment, photogrammetric techniques, and map quality control. This training equips them with the necessary skills to effectively utilize Automated Mapping tools during on-site surveys and field data collection. As a result, they can produce accurate printed and digital maps that serve as essential primary basemaps. These maps can be utilized accurately and efficiently by government agencies, private organizations, and the general public in accordance with established map production standards.
