Have the courage to propose and listen to ideas with creativity.

Bo, a GEODesign Manager at ESRI Thailand, a company within the CDG group, is responsible for solutions related to designing, planning, and implementing 3D technology for Smart Cities. She began her career as a System Engineer, assisting customers with software and backend systems. Eventually, she had the opportunity to delve into 3D data solutions, working on diverse and challenging projects. Currently serving as a Team Lead, Bo oversees the design of solutions utilizing Location Intelligence technology to meet customer requirements. Working at ESRI Thailand provides ample opportunities for skill development, comprehensive knowledge acquisition, and personal growth. A well-structured work environment leads to increased efficiency. “The initial impression of working at Esri is the systematic approach adopted here. There’s a clear organizational structure, defined projects, and job roles, facilitating convenient work processes. Additionally, our team comprises of affable colleagues, fostering seamless delivery of high-quality work to customers.” Every day at work involves learning new things and facing challenges. Bo elaborates, “Each day presents new challenges, providing opportunities for personal growth and skill development. My background in architecture has equipped me with additional skills such as drafting in AutoCAD and proficiency in Photoshop, which complement my current job requirements. Our roles demand a diverse skill set beyond GIS alone, enabling us to effectively handle urgent tasks, new projects, ad-hoc assignments, and successfully representing the company in collaborations with senior government agencies. These varied experiences instill in us a mindset of readiness for embracing the unknown. Hence, there’s a sense of preparedness rather than apprehension, ensuring continuous improvement over time.” An illustrative example of a challenge is when I had to represent and lecture on behalf of the company in discussions with government agencies, alongside presidents of major local organizations. We meticulously prepared ourselves to effectively fulfill our roles as representatives. Such experiences offer valuable lessons, not only in terms of technical knowledge but also in enhancing communication skills, addressing issues, and delivering compelling presentations. Hence, alongside our primary responsibilities, we’ve honed our public speaking skills.” CDG Culture: Striking a balance between work and life. Bo reflects, “CDG fosters a culture of hard work, both in our professional endeavors and company activities. There’s a collective dedication among employees, evident in our enthusiastic participation in various events and competitions. Whether it’s Sports Day or tackling work challenges, we approach everything with a ‘Work Hard, Play Harder’ ethos, making the journey enjoyable.” Listening, daring to speak up, and expressing opinions creatively contribute to collaborative success. Optimism, positivity, and inspiration are core values at CDG, encouraging employees to embrace proactive thinking and actions. “On a personal level, I firmly believe that if we set our minds to something, we can achieve it. Despite not starting in the IT field, our background in architecture hasn’t hindered our success. It underscores the notion that nothing is insurmountable if approached with determination. This mindset not only guides my own journey but also influences how I encourage my team.” Encouraging a culture of speaking up and open-mindedness is crucial for CDG’s core values. “We regularly conduct team evaluations and updates, fostering an environment where everyone feels empowered to express their thoughts openly and respectfully. Whether it’s during meetings or brainstorming sessions, fostering an environment where diverse perspectives are valued leads to more effective outcomes. Embracing differences creatively and listening with an open heart enables us to discern the true needs of our customers and devise optimal solutions. This collaborative approach ensures that we consistently deliver results that exceed expectations.” In conclusion, the ability to confidently express opinions and embrace diverse perspectives not only fosters personal and professional growth but also enhances team collaboration and ultimately leads to superior outcomes for both clients and the organization as a whole.
